Brendon Albers is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe who lives and works near the Pine Ridge Reservation. Brendon is a First People's Fund 2015 Artist in Business Leadership Fellow and 2016 Cultural Capital Fellow. Working primarily in Black Hills Alabaster, his large-scale stone sculptures have found homes across the country. In addition to studio work, Mr Albers accepted the nomination to lead the Pine Ridge Art Center in December 2017, embracing and bringing new life to our Mission. He has worked with First Peoples FundThe Keya Foundation and other organizations to share his passion for art, sense of purpose, suicide prevention and Lakota values with youth through classes and workshops in art and Native traditions. A great collection of his work can be seen at the Pine Ridge Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center in Kyle, South Dakota.
