Joe Pulliam

Joe Pulliam is an Oglala Sioux Tribal Member, US Army Veteran, and nationally-recognized and award-winning Oglala Lakota Artist. He attended Oglala Lakota College and began his art career with a screen-printing business in Pine Ridge. A significant influence on his work was his time at Standing Rock during the Dakota Access pipeline protest. Since then, he has continued his work fighting for a better standard of living on the Reservation. Mr Pulliam’s work has been shown in many significant exhibits, including at the Smithsonian and in an exhibit on Protest Art at Yale University in 2021. Joe was co-founder of the Pine Ridge Art Center, now Seven Council Fires Native Art. He is the father of eight and lives in Rapid City.
